Markers
Markers are needed for all Singles competitions.
Place the equipment on the green for the start of the competition. This includes a JACK, 2 MATS, SCOOPS (if needed) BOWLS MARKERS, SCORE BOARD.
Markers will need CHALK, MEASURE, WEDGE, SCORECARD/PEN and a COIN.
Please enter on the scorecard names/competition and handicaps where appropriate (details of handicaps are indicated)
Handicaps must be used even if each person has the same.
The winner of the toss can choose who has the mat at the start of the competition.
Two trial ends with information from the Marker regarding distance from the jack and then bowls are removed to the back of the green.
Markers stand well back from the head during play.
Once play has begun the marker can answer questions from the player on the mat before they play.
Mark all live bowls that touch the jack with chalk.
Mark the position of live bowls and jack in the ditch with markers.
When the players come to the head it is up to them to agree how many shots. The marker then writes the score that has been agreed on the scorecard, and adds it to the Scoreboard. Any measuring to be done by the marker.
After the competition has been completed please ask the loser to sign the scorecard and then place it in the Scorecard folder.
The Competition Secretary will then add the winners name to the draw sheet.
